When I registered for the basic front crawl course for lifeguard certification online, I (like all other participants) received the message that a basic package with swimming materials is required.
Stubborn that I was, I didn’t buy anything.
So I arrived at lesson 1 with only a bathing suit and goggles. I would have borrowed it from someone. I thought: “first see, then believe”. It will not be the first course that recommends all kinds of materials with which I only fill the cupboard space in the house, but nothing else.
It turned out that I wasn’t the only participant who thought so. Unfortunately for me (and him) we were lucky lifeguard certification online. A swimmer’s standard equipment today includes a pull buoy (leg float), boomers (small flippers), aboard, and a frontal snorkel for lifeguard certification online. Apart from swimming goggles, a water bottle and possibly a swimming cap.
Why these materials?
A pull buoy is a leg float. You clamp this between your legs (or ankles) and that way your legs stay afloat. So you don’t have to focus on your legs, but you can only focus on your arms.
Boomers ensure that you go through the water a lot faster and smoother with lifeguard certification online. Take some getting used to at first. But because you go through the water more easily, you can better focus on your technique (or train leg muscles).
The plank serves as support when training your legs and the snorkel also ensures that you don’t have to pay attention to your breathing, but you can just breathe while you swim.
So the tools help you in your technique. And better focus on a special part.
SWIMMING AT AN ASSOCIATION
What is it like to swim at a swimming club? A fairly frequently asked question. The world of swimming and the associations can sometimes be closed to the outside world. As a result, the threshold may be higher to start at an association.
I myself started from a front crawl course and then switched to personal training. Of course, I could have opted for a swimming club for lifeguard certification online straight away. Yes, a swimming club. I have to be able to swim for that, right? And I couldn’t really do that at the time. So I chose personal training first and only joined an association when I was ready for my first competition.

As an adult, it is advisable to join a swimming club with a master’s department (masters is the name for adults within swimming) or with a triathlon department for lifeguard certification online. What swimming level do I need?

However, you should not let this be an obstacle. In swimming, it is quite normal for lanes to be classified based on speed. So you will be assigned to a job that matches your pace. That way you won’t get in the way of other swimmers with lifeguard certification online, and they won’t get in the way of you either.
All strokes pass during training. If you do not (yet) master all strokes, you will be guided or a suitable alternative devised. Mastering the front crawl is an advantage. Since this is often the most swum stroke.
Are they mainly competitive swimmers?

What do the workouts look like?
